We’re recruiting a Non-Executive Director / Trustee with HR expertise

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is a family of nine inclusive primary schools in North Somerset, and we’re looking for a strategic HR professional to help shape our people strategy.

If you’re passionate about culture, wellbeing, and making a positive impact in local communities, this voluntary role offers real strategic influence with approx. 4–8 hours per month commitment.

What you’ll bring:

✔ Confidence in organisational design, culture and talent strategy
✔ Strong communication skills and the ability to offer constructive challenge

What you'll do:
🔹 Hold strategic oversight of our recruitment, retention and talent strategy
🔹 Guide the Board’s monitoring of wellbeing, engagement and diversity metrics
🔹 Support our CEO & HR Lead as a strategic advisor
🔹 Champion the ongoing development of our inclusive, supportive, high‑performance culture.
