Professional Development
Whether you are new to ELAN, or looking to deepen your expertise, we invest in our employees professional development from day one.
Our professional development and training programme aims to provide a wide range of learning opportunities tailored to employees needs, from essential inductions to specialist networks.
Every course and every network is a step towards delivering extraordinary education, together.
At ELAN, we believe that professional development is not a one-time event—it’s a continuous journey.
All ELAN staff complete safeguarding, GDPR, Prevent, fire awareness, sexual harassment and cyber security a annual as a minimum requirement.
We hold a dedicated support staff trust INSET day in the Autumn where all support staff can choose from a wide range of training opportunities such as autism in the classroom, communication, transition, phonics and the use of AI in school.
Teaching staff access a comprehensive programme of training throughout the year that includes assessment, curriculum and pedagogy, phonics, data, Opening Worlds and much more.
We have 24 different networks who meet regularly during the year. These range from subject specific to assessment, finance, HR and special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Other training such as safer recruitment, first aid, or safety intervention is available too.
Our governance professionals; school governors, trust member and trust board members also have specific training in place ranging from 'New to Governance' to GDPR and digital security.
